How to Create a Standard Pawn Deal

Purpose

This operational guide provides the exact step-by-step procedure for creating a secured collateral pawn loan (Pfandleihe) for general merchandise (smartphones, laptops, luxury watches, jewelry, high-end electronics) in Cashy-Hub.

Prerequisites & Role Permissions

  • Required User Role: Counter Operator, Store Clerk, Branch Manager, or Administrator.
  • Physical Verification: Customer must be present at the counter with valid European photo identification (Passport, National ID, or Driving License).

The Deal Wizard Architecture

In Cashy-Hub, deal creation is governed by a two-mode architecture in the Deal Wizard: 1. Creation Mode (isCreationMode): Activated by clicking Create a Deal in the top navigation bar. Desk operators complete Step 1 (Basic Information), which contains 4 collapsible form sections. The header shows live estimated payout; the top action bar provides the DEAL TYPE toggle (Pawn vs Purchase), Cancel, and Create [PAWN/Purchase] Deal button; the right panel displays the real-time Deal Summary Sidebar. Steps 2–6 remain locked until the deal is registered. 2. Management Mode (!isCreationMode): Automatically entered upon successful deal creation or when opening an existing deal from the Kanban board or Deals list. The header transitions to the DealInfo banner (Booking number, country/branch badges, borrower name, duration, and item count); the stepper unlocks Steps 2–6 (Research, Price, Verification, Payout, Storage); the top action bar switches to Archive, Payback, Extend, and Close buttons; and the right panel switches to the Comments and Timeline tabs.

Step-by-Step Deal Creation Procedure

Step 1: Open the Deal Wizard

  1. In the top navigation bar, click the purple Create a Deal button.

[!NOTE] The + button in Kanban column headers creates operational task reminders for that column, not pawn deals. Deals are created exclusively by clicking Create a Deal in the top navigation bar.

  1. The Deal Wizard modal window opens in creation mode:
  2. Header: Displays "New Deal Creation" and live "EST. PAYOUT: € 0.00".
  3. Stepper: Stage 1 (Basic Info) is active; Stages 2–6 (Research, Price, Verification, Payout, Storage) are locked.
  4. Top Action Bar: Located to the right of the stepper, displays the DEAL TYPE toggle set to Pawn, the Cancel button, and the Create PAWN Deal button.
  5. Deal Summary Sidebar: Located on the right, providing live calculation updates.

Step 2: Customer (Section 1)

In the collapsible Customer section:

  1. Select Customer Type:
  2. Guest: Use for quick walk-in transactions. Only Email * is required; name and phone inputs are hidden.
  3. Create New: Use to register a new customer profile. Requires First Name *, Last Name *, Email *, and optional Phone.
  4. Registered (Default): Use for returning borrowers.
  5. Lookup Existing Customer:
  6. In Registered mode, type into the Search Customer field (searches by first name, last name, email, or phone number).
  7. Real-time suggestions appear with customer name, email, phone, and customer ID.
  8. Selecting a customer automatically populates and locks First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, and saved banking details (IBAN, PayPal) to read-only status.
  9. Secondary Customer:
  10. Click + Add secondary customer if an additional co-borrower must be recorded.

Step 3: Deal Metadata (Section 2)

In the collapsible Deal Metadata section:

  1. Company : Select the corporate entity (e.g. CASHY Austria GmbH or CASHY Germany GmbH*).
  2. Branch / Shop *: Select the store branch handling the transaction (filtered by the selected company).
  3. Pawn Duration (days) *: Enter the desired pawn contract duration.

[!IMPORTANT] Statutory Minimum Duration Rules: - Austria (AT Branches): Minimum duration is strictly 30 days. - Germany (DE Branches): Minimum duration is strictly 90 days. When a company is selected, the duration field automatically defaults to the statutory minimum (30 or 90 days). Entering a value below the country threshold triggers a blocking validation error.

  1. Due Date (Task): Displays the maturity date calculated automatically from bookingDate + duration. Clicking the field opens the interactive CalendarSmall popover to review or adjust the target date.

Step 4: Items (Section 3)

In the collapsible Items section:

  1. Add Item: Click + Add Item to add collateral item cards (Item #1, Item #2...).
  2. Select Category *: Click the category selector to open the hierarchical category tree.
  3. Navigate to the appropriate category (e.g. Electronics > Smartphone or Luxury > Watches).

[!WARNING] Vehicle Category Exclusivity: Automotive categories (auto, pkw, car, motorrad, auto_stored, motorradstored) cannot be mixed with general merchandise on the same deal. Deals must strictly consist of either all-vehicle items or all-general items.

  1. Item Title : Enter a clear product description (e.g. "Rolex Submariner Date 41mm" or "Apple iPhone 15 Pro 256GB"*).
  2. Dynamic Category Questions: Complete any category-specific questions (such as storage capacity, cosmetic condition, battery health, original accessories, or IMEI) fetched automatically from the central database.
  3. Appraisal & Payout Amounts:
  4. **Market Value *** (€): Enter the estimated second-hand resale value.
  5. **Payout *** (€): Enter the exact loan principal requested for the item.

[!CAUTION] Minimum Payout Constraint (€100.01): Cashy-Hub enforces a strict minimum credit threshold: €100.01. If an operator inputs €100.00 or less, the system displays a blocking validation alert: "Payout amount is less than €100.00, credit not allowed." The deal cannot be submitted until the payout meets or exceeds €100.01.

  1. Removing Items: Click the trash icon on an item card to remove it. A deal must always contain at least 1 item.

Step 5: Transport & Payout (Section 4)

In the collapsible Transport & Payout section:

  1. Transport Method *: Select from the dropdown:
  2. Shop (SHOP): Customer brought the collateral directly to the branch counter.
  3. Shipment (STANDARD_SHIPMENT): Inbound insured parcel delivery.
  4. Preferred Payout Method *: Select from the dropdown:
  5. Cash (CASH): Liquid cash disbursed from the active store drawer (KASSA).
  6. Bank Transfer (BANK): SEPA credit transfer. Displays the mandatory IBAN * input with European ISO 13616 regex format validation.
  7. Paypal (PAYPAL): Electronic payment. Displays the mandatory Paypal Address * email input.

Step 6: Additional Notes (Section 5)

In the collapsible Additional Notes section: - Notes: Enter optional handling instructions, packaging notes, or counter remarks (up to 4 lines).

Step 7: Verify Summary & Create Deal

  1. Review Deal Summary Sidebar: Check the real-time financial breakdown computed live by the central pricing engine:
  2. Itemized Payouts & Fees: Storage fee, Staggered fee (processing), Manipulation fee (handling), Cleaning fee, Verification fee, and Interest fee.
  3. Repayment Amount: Total redemption amount per item.
  4. Grand Totals: Total Payback and Total Payout.
  5. Submit Deal:
  6. Ensure the DEAL TYPE toggle in the top action bar is set to Pawn.
  7. Click the purple Create PAWN Deal button.
  8. The button switches to Creating... during submission.
  9. Transition to Management Mode:
  10. Upon successful creation, the system displays a confirmation notification, generates the unique Booking Number, and automatically switches the wizard into Management Mode.
  11. Steps 2–6 (Research, Price, Verification, Payout, Storage) become active in the stepper, and the top action bar reveals Archive, Payback, Extend, and Close controls.
